**Please note: The asparagus season usually starts right as the CSA season is beginning. This year, however, asparagus came in two weeks early, which means it is going out two weeks early. We have less asparagus than we usually do at this time of year, and that is why it is not available pre-picked in this week’s boxes. But the good news is that we’ve had many more strawberries this year than in previous years.

CSA News

We want to invite all of our CSA members to join us at the farm for a potluck supper on Wed., Oct. 3, from 4:30 until 6:30 p.m. This is the same day you’ll pick up your quadruple fall box packed with pumpkins and other fall goodies, so mark your calendars (and remember that all CSA members get the fall box at Snead’s Farm, regardless of where you’ve picked up during the summer).

This has been a very enjoyable CSA season for us here on the farm, and we want to get our members together for food and fun. Bring a dish for your family or to share. We will have The Well at Snead’s Farm serving simple fare like chili dogs and Snead’s Farm corn on the cob. We’ll also have a few local breweries on hand selling brews they’ve made with our ingredients this year. We hope it will be a fun evening of celebrating the local harvest, something our CSA members play a big role in.

We are already offering CSA shares for the 2019 season. Find the contract here. We will have it in the online store shortly. Join before Oct. 3 to take advantage of the 10 percent discount.

Thanks for a great season, we’ll see you in October!
